Read It, Watch It Summer Series begins tomorrow

The kids are finally done with school, and that leaves them with lots of time to read (and watch) their favorite stories.

The Read It, Watch It Summer Series, which features both classic and new film adaptations of books that the young (and the young at heart) love, returns to the State Theatre, in downtown State College, tomorrow.

Every Wednesday, from tomorrow until Aug. 10, a different children’s movie will be shown for free at noon at the State Theatre.

Each week, a local charity will be featured, and donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected for the State College Food Bank.

Tomorrow’s film will be Stuart Little, and the featured charity will be Centre Volunteers in Medicine.

The series is presented in cooperation with The Schlow Library Summer Reading Program and sponsored by the Downtown State College Improvement District and State College Downtown Rotary Club. Media Sponsors are Majic 99 and Big Froggy 101.

All children must be accompanied by an adult, and there is a 4-limit ticket per adult.

Visit the State Theatre for more information.
