Golf Tournament to benefit The House of Care

The House of Care, located at 515 W. Beaver Ave., in State College, is a small personal care home for those who have declining or compromised health and who lack the housing, financial or family resources to handle daily life on their own.

As we mentioned in a previous post, though it costs about $160 every day to take care of a House of Care resident, the residents themselves can usually contribute just $28-32 a day.

That’s why it’s so important for The House of Care to receive help from the public.

The Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses will play host to the 11th Annual Shaner Charity Golf Tournament on August 12, benefiting The House of Care.

A fun way to help the organization out is to participate in this year’s 11th Annual Shaner Charity Golf Tournament, at the Penn State Blue and White Golf Courses. The tournament will be held August 12, but registration is due by Sunday, July 31.

Aside from supporting a good cause, you’ll also have the opportunity to win a new car, along with more than $9,000 in other prizes.

There are various levels of participation, from $25 on up. You can sign up by filling out this form. And if you can’t make it, you can also just donate to The House of Care by filling out the form or by visiting their website.
