The leaves are starting to change colors, and there’s a chill in the air, which means it’s time for fall, and for the 12th Annual Fall Festival, in downtown State College.
This Saturday, Oct. 1, people will converge upon South Allen Street to celebrate the new season (and America’s Day for Kids) with activities – like pony rides, a carousel, pumpkin decorating and other kid-friendly crafts and displays – that will delight the young, and young at heart. In addition, the Community Resource Fair in the Municipal Building will have information about important resources that are available in the Centre Region.
The event will also give you a good excuse to whip up some Autumn-themed sweets to enter in the 6th Annual Best of Happy Valley Desserts competition. The winner will receive a $50 Downtown State College gift card! To enter, just complete an entry form and write down the recipe, and deliver those items to the judging table on Allen Street in front of the Municipal Building between 10 and 11 a.m. The results will be announced around 1 p.m.
