To celebrate Yoga Month and the United Nations’ International Day of Peace, which took place on Sept. 21, the Centre County Yoga Teachers’ Association (CCYTA) will host its 3rd annual Yoga For Peace event this weekend, with proceeds benefiting the Centre County Women’s Resource Center.
Local yoga studios including the Center for Well Being, Lotus Center Yoga, Lila Yoga Studio, Pure Yoga Pilates and Yoga in State College will offer about two dozen free classes between today and Sunday, with the option to help the Women’s Resource Center through donations or through the purchase of raffle tickets, which cost $5 for one or $20 for 5. In 2010, Yoga for Peace raised $1,300 for the Centre County Youth Service Bureau’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program. In 2011, Yoga For Peace raised $1,450 for the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA).
Questions about the weekend’s activities can be directed to email@example.com. Yoga is a great way to decrease stress, especially when there’s no price tag on it! Will you be taking part in any of this weekend’s Yoga For Peace activities?
