Every year, we at the Centre Foundation hold a dinner to thank our valued supporters and keep them updated about what’s happening at the Foundation. We also use this event as an opportunity to present awards to deserving community members and nonprofit organizations and we feature a speaker whose ideas have the potential to improve our community.
This year is no exception. We hope you will join us for the Centre Foundation’s 2012 Annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Nittany Lion Inn. A reception featuring a cash bar and complimentary hors d’oeuvres will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner and our program beginning at 6:30. The program will consist of an update on what we’ve been up to over the past year, followed by our speaker, Rebecca Ryan, and our awards ceremony.
Rebecca Ryan is a gifted speaker and writer whose purpose – to leave the world a better place for future generations – has impacted hundreds of cities and companies and thousands of audience members. Rebecca will address how we in Centre County can do better to attract — and retain — young talent. We are pleased to be able to bring her to our community so she can share these ideas with all of us.
During our awards ceremony, we will recognize two people and one organization for the important work they do for our community. We will present the Oak Tree Award, which recognizes an individual for service and commitment to, and passion for, the Centre Foundation; and the Future of the Foundation Award, which recognizes a young adult community member who actively strives to improve the quality of life in Centre County and shows commitment and passion in working for the future of our community. The winners of these two awards will be announced at the dinner.
We will also present the Kathryn S. Weaver Award, which was named after an early donor whose significant legacy gift created great momentum for the growth of the Foundation’s endowment funds. The award recognizes a local charitable organization for noteworthy service to the people of Centre County and will be awarded to the Centre County Women’s Resource Center.
Attendance at the dinner costs $60 per person, and registration should be done online by Oct. 17 using our website.
We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony!
