According to the Knight Foundation’s 2011 Soul of the Community report, communities whose residents love where they live and feel engaged are more likely to be prosperous, both economically and socially.
For this reason, it is imperative that we find ways to make our community more attractive, open and engaging. To that end, we at the Centre Foundation would like to invite all community members interested in this goal to join us at the Soul of Centre County Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.
Economist and writer Rebecca Ryan will will present the keynote address “The Soul of Centre County: Reflecting, Responding, and Redesigning for the Future.” Rebecca provides energy and insight into how to create a community that engages its residents. She will focus on how to attract young professionals to our community – and how to keep them here.
Registration costs $15 and should be done online by Oct. 21.
We hope to see you there!
