A number of State College Area High School alumni have been successful in the film industry and this weekend those filmmakers’ talents will be on display for the enjoyment of the community they came from.
The weekend-long State of Film Fest, beginning Friday, Nov. 2 (tomorrow), will include eight feature films and 10 short films from 23 alumni writers, directors, producers, educators, and independent artists. There will also be ample time to mingle with the filmmakers and pick their brains at a happy hour held from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the State Theatre lobby and during Q&A sessions following the films.
Short films be shown for free Friday night after the happy hour from 7 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, feature-length and short films will be shown throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The final film will be screened on Sunday morning.at 9:30.
Attendees can pay per film at $6 per feature film and $4 per short film, or buy s $55 weekend pass, which provides access to all of the films, as well as breakout meal sessions with the filmmakers Saturday and a brunch following the final film on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at the State Theatre box office or on its website, where you can also check out the lineup of films.
