Salvation Army, others collect “Coats for Kids”

Weather forecasters are predicting a cold and snowy winter for us here in Centre County. This makes the annual “Coats for Kids” fundraiser, which collects new or gently used coats for both children and adults, especially important this year.

The campaign, sponsored by The Salvation Army, 3WZ Radio, Balfurd Cleaners and Mount Nittany Medical Center, kicked off Nov. 9 and will continue through Jan. 11 of next year.

The program took in about 900 coats last year, and organizers are hoping to match or improve upon that number this year, so if you can spare a new or gently used coat, head to one of the 21 drop-off locations throughout Centre County!
