Centre Foundation Executive Director Al Jones has announced that he will retire this year, following a search for his successor.
Al has served as executive director since 2009, and served on the foundation’s board prior to that.
The Centre Daily Times has a great article (and a nice photo!) about his retirement in today’s paper.
The article talks about Al’s many accomplishments as executive director, including the one he says he is most proud of, the creation of Centre Gives, an online fundraising initiative that raised about $415,000 in 2012, its first year. Centre Gives will take place once again this year, on May 22 & 23.
Al said he will miss seeing the staff every day – we’ll miss him too! – but what he’ll miss most is “knowing that what I do every day makes the community a little better — that I help make a difference.”
Al has touched many people and enacted much positive change during his time as executive director. Please join us in thanking him for that service and sending him positive wishes as he prepares for the next phase of his life!
